Ahlan Wah Sahlan Al-Muharram

December 17, 2009

In The Name Of Allah, The Most Compassionate And The Most Merciful.

We, the ummah of Rasulullah SAW are approaching a new year, one of the many years that were determined by his migration. We are also anticipating the arrival of the month of Allah, al-Muharram, in which fasting is more beloved to Allah than any other days other than Ramadhan. Among these days are the 9th and the 10th of the month, in remembrance of the deliverance of Sayyidina Musa AS. With the arrival of this month, we are all reminded of the flight of the chosen Messenger, Sayyidina Muhammad SAW from Mekkah to Madina, as well as all of the guidance, signs, lessons, admonitions and exhortation that it contained.

Rasulullah SAW said:

“The emigrant is one who flees from what Allah has prohibited.

Thus, every adherent of the faith is obliged to approach the up and coming year of 1431H with a sincere resolve and absolute determination to abstain from that of which Allah and His Rasul has forbidden.

Heed the word of Allah SWT:

Do not occupy yourself with what you have no knowledge of for (man’s) eyes, ears and heart, each of these shall be questioned about this. – Al-Israa : 36

Dealing With Difficult People

October 19, 2009

Question: I often encounter rude behavior from sisters when I attend the mosque and other events. This burdens my spirit and I’ve concluded that Islam is the relationship between you and God and the ummah part is just extra if you can deal with it. In other words I don’t enjoy the company of many sisters and just rather be at home. Tonight from prayer I was walking towards my door and I thought “maybe I shouldn’t be Muslim anymore” and as soon as I thought it, I fell down a flight of steps, hurt my right hand and nearly broke the fingers on my left. If the shayateen are bounded during Ramadan where is all this from?

Answer: I pray that you are doing well inshaAllah and that Allah will ease the pain in your heart and safeguard and increase your faith.

The scholars of Ihsan (spiritual excellence) note that dealing with people is one of the greatest trials that a person can face. It tests one’s whole being — one’s physical, emotional and mental reactions. Dealing with the ill-treatment of a fellow Muslim and being forgiving is a great mujahada (spiritual struggle) whose reward is commensurate with the difficulty one finds in doing it.

The Great Reward

Your ordinary zikr, Subhanallah walhamdulillah wa laa ilaa ha ilallah hu wallahuakbar are light on the lips but they are very heavy on the mizan! – Ust Zhulkeflee Bin Hj Ismail

Advice From Ust Shafie

July 19, 2009

In the name of Allah, The Most Compassionate And The Most Merciful.

Have you noticed those donation boxes going around during any majlis? And this usually happens in a mosque. People would quickly pass it to the next person whether they are donating or not.

Ust Shafie reminded us to slow down that donation box. When you want to make a donation, make dua first! The angels who are searching for majlis’ which are full in praise for Allah and Rasulullah SAW, will be rushing to be with the one who donates.

“For eg: Ya Allah, with the blessings of Rasulullah SAW and this great majlis, your humble, sinful servant asks for… “.

Ust Abu Zaki saw me and asked where I have been coz it’s been a while since he saw me.

Ya Allah, how much time I have wasted outside the masjid. Even though it’s coming to the end of Rejab, I hope it’s still not too late to “sow the seeds”.
